A New Way To Thrive

For the past three months, I’ve been investing a significant amount of my time in a new start-up that I co-founded with two other individuals. Helping others build and grow a business is something I’ve always loved doing. Usually I provide consulting and coaching to entrepreneurs for a fee, but this is the first time I’ve received an equity stake in someone else’s business. The enjoyment I am experiencing with helping someone else succeed has been immensely rewarding.

Thrive Senior Advisors is a referral agency that assists families of their elderly loved ones or seniors themselves find housing and care alternatives or retirement living. The company meets a growing demand as the baby boom generation ages and find themselves needing to navigate the complicated myriad of options available to them.

My involvement in getting the business off the ground has been with all of the back-office items so that the founder can focus on what she does best – serving the needs of her clients. In the first 90 days we’ve accomplished a lot and have even added our first full-time employee. I’ve been able to focus on what I love to do most which are the creative and technical aspects of a business. I’ve led the development of the branding, advertising, and marketing along with the setup of the technical solutions such as phones, computers, email, website, CRM and accounting systems.

It’s been a lot of fun and I look forward to helping the business continue to grow.
